Far Beyond Inspiration

Aaron Epp at Douglas Mennonite had a dream of bringing original music, created by congregation members, together on a CD. A few people helped shape the vision and purpose of the project as a fundraiser, a few helped raise initial funds, and here's what emerged!

There is no doubt that God inspires. This divine inspiration causes people to do many different things. At Douglas Mennonite Church, may people choose to express their inspiration through music. When the idea came about to record a CD of songs featuring musicians from Douglas, there were many people eager to take part. so, with the intention of using the profits from the CD to support Douglas' Christian Education and Service Fund, we put together a collection of sixteen songs by nine different individuals or groups. it is quite a diverse collection of songs, encompassing folk, rock, rap, praise and worship and punk music. All the songs, however, have a common theme: the people who wrote and performed them were inspired by God to do so. they have gone beyond this initial inspiration to pick up their instruments and make music. All the musicians on this CD are far beyond inspired... Enjoy!
